Unlocking Edtech for Meaningful Student Engagement

This Future Ready Schools workshop will focus on using digital tools to spark curiosity and innovation across the curriculum. Instructional leaders, teachers, and librarians will leave with ideas for seamlessly integrating digital tools into their schools.

Outcomes:

Participants will leave with: - An understanding of what the effective use of edtech looks like in instruction. - The ability to leverage instructional frameworks for deeper levels of engagement. - Knowledge of high-quality digital tools to promote student engagement and the local curriculum. - A collaborative list of “go-to” resources for student engagement curated by colleagues and a network of like-minded colleagues looking to innovate. - A plan for unlocking digital tools to enhance learning and creativity.

Dr. Adam Phyall, formerly a high school science teacher, served as the Director of Technology and Media Services for Newton County School System, GA. From his first college laptop, Adam embraced technology's potential in education. He introduced video and podcast projects to simplify complex science topics. Recognizing technology's positive impact on learning, Adam shared his methods with colleagues. This passion led him to roles as an Instructional Technology Leader, Technology Facilitator, and ultimately, Director of Technology & Media Services.

Tom serves as the Director of Innovation for Future Ready Schools, a project of All4Ed. He has testified before the US Congress and has worked alongside that body and the US Senate, the White House, and the US Department of Education.
