Partnership, Funding, Resources ... Oh My!

When schools and community organizations work together to support learning, everyone benefits. Partnerships can strengthen, support, and even transform individual partners, resulting in improved program quality, more efficient use of resources, and better alignment of goals and curricula (Harvard Family Research Project, 2010). Many schools attempt to build a thriving community school but fall short in translating the principles of active partnerships into real student achievement. This session will help you create a plan for a thriving school that includes measurable student growth.

Outcomes:

At the end of this session, you will be able to: 1. Understand the call and the need for building a thriving school community. 2. List three core essentials for partnerships. 3. Demonstrate at least three examples of must haves to enhance school community. 4. Demonstrate at least three methods to enhance school community. 5. Discuss common barriers to continued partnership and ways to overcome them.
