Achebe currently teaches science and broadcasting. Out of a district of 1,500 teachers, she was selected as one of three finalists for the Teacher of the Year Award in 2023, recognized for her outstanding work in SEL and STEM. Achebe was named a PBS Digital Innovator in 2017 and received Fund for Teachers Fellowships in both 2017 and 2024. In 2020, she was awarded the prestigious Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship from National Geographic. Since 2011, Achebe has led a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth. A serial entrepreneur and inventor, she also owns a company that provides wellness-promoting digital signage to schools.
