Dr. Bryan R. Drost is the Executive Director for Instructional Innovation at North Central Ohio ESC, where he leads regional initiatives in curriculum, assessment, instructional design, and strategic improvement. With over 20 years of experience across K–12 and higher education, he has served as a curriculum director, principal, teacher, and technology director, bringing a systems-level perspective to teaching and learning. Dr. Drost is a nationally recognized expert in classroom assessment, instructional coherence, and the intersection of pedagogy and technology. He has led multi-million-dollar grant initiatives, large-scale research studies, and cross-district collaborations focused on improving student outcomes through standards-aligned curriculum and evidence-based instructional practices. His work with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce includes contributions to model curriculum, assessment design, and statewide accountability systems. He is a faculty member at multiple universities in Ohio and New York, where he teaches graduate courses in assessment, instructional leadership, school law, literacy, and educational administration, both online and in-person. Dr. Drost is also a prolific author and presenter, with over 20 publications and more than 200 presentations at national, state, and regional conferences. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) Classroom Assessment Committee and Chair of Ohio’s Trusted Learning Environment (TLE) group. He is an ISTE+ASCD Certified Instructional Leader and an ASCD author, with recent work focused on generative AI, assessment systems, and instructional design. At the core of his work is a commitment to helping educators design coherent systems that improve instruction and ultimately impact student learning.
