Lori Cohen has worked in education for three decades, serving as a teacher, instructional coach, school leader, and professional development facilitator. While working in schools, Cohen developed a teaching fellows' program for new teachers, created in-house professional development tailored to staff needs, and built instructional coaching programs. She also served as the dean of faculty, overseeing the overhaul of teacher growth and evaluation. Lori Cohen has worked in education for three decades, serving as a teacher, instructional coach, school leader, and professional development facilitator. While working in schools, Cohen developed a teaching fellows program for new teachers, created in-house professional development tailored to staff needs, and built instructional coaching programs. She also served as the dean of faculty, overseeing the overhaul of teacher growth and evaluation. Cohen also led programs for new teachers as they developed their skills as early-career educators. In 2019, she began working as an independent consultant, serving clients around the globe. Cohen is a contributing author of The Art of Coaching Workbook; co-author (with Elena Aguilar) of The PD Book: 7 Habits that Transform Professional Development (2022); and co-author (with Elizabeth Denevi) of Integrating Educator Well-Being, Growth, and Evaluation: Four Foundations for Leaders. She’s currently working on a book on transformative lesson planning for ASCD, due out in September 2026.
