Katie Chirhart is an educator and technology leader with over two decades of experience in elementary education. A National Board Certified Teacher since 2006, Katie specializes in integrating STEM and educational technology into K–5 classrooms and is passionate about empowering educators through technology. She currently serves as a Gifted ELA Teacher at South Highlands Elementary Magnet and has authored coding curricula and technology integration resources for national organizations, including Wonder Workshop and Teachers with Apps. Her accolades include LaCUE Elementary Teacher of the Year (2023–2024), NSBA “20 to Watch” honoree, and TCEA High Impact Teacher of the Year Finalist.

The Sunshine Studio
Imagine, experiment, and create in the Sunshine Studio with daily drop-in art making led by local artists and artist educators. Each day will bring a new hands-on activity to inspire your creative spirit. Drop in for 10 minutes or stay for an hour to participate in individual and community projects.
