Session description

In this session, led by an award-winning principal and 2011 ASCD OYEA honoree, we will share how our PBIS token economy has transformed an urban high school, improving student achievement and growth on end-of-course tests while earning a Level 5 (out of 5) for growth in 2025.

Outline

1. We will spend 1/2 of the session describing how our token economy system works and why it is successful.
2. We will spend 1/4 of the session leading participants through a series of questions to think about the create their own systems.
3. The remaining time will be asking the audience to share their ideas and working to bounce ideas of other attendees at the session.

Outcomes

After this session, participants will be able to immediately develop and implement a PBIS Token Economy System that increases student achievement and growth while decreasing chronic absenteeism.
