Session description

Step into a Scooby-Doo–style mystery where coaching impact is missing. Participants will unmask villains like fear, faulty data, and setbacks, while discovering strategies and resources that empower coaches and leaders to build capacity, foster growth, and leave with tools ready for immediate use.

5 min | Engaging Opening: Mysteries We Face
Turn and Talk: Participants discuss “What mysteries do we face in our roles?”
Share Out: Volunteers highlight key themes.
Purpose: Sets a collaborative tone, surfaces common challenges, and connects to the mystery theme.

5 min | Scooby-Doo Roles in Leadership Teams
Participants review character traits and select the Scooby-Doo character that reflects their role on a leadership team.
Share Out: Participants briefly explain their choice.
Purpose: Builds community, reinforces the theme, and helps participants reflect on team dynamics.

12–min | Introducing IMPACT + Activity: The Longest Line
Facilitator introduces the IMPACT framework as a tool for building coaching influence.
Activity: “The Longest Line” – participants collaborate in teams.
Purpose: Creates an experiential entry point into impact, highlighting collaboration and strategy.

6 min | Debrief & Reflection
Participants reflect on activity takeaways using a Padlet or similar tool to capture insights.
Group discussion on how collaboration mirrors real coaching challenges.
Purpose: Ensures participants translate the activity into practical meaning for coaching practice.

12 min | Breaking Down IMPACT + Game: Jinkies/Yikes
Facilitator introduces each component of the IMPACT acronym.
Game: “Jinkies/Yikes” – participants respond to examples of coaching moves, identifying what strengthens vs. weakens impact.
Purpose: Provides interactive practice with the framework while reinforcing what effective coaching looks like.

15 min | Scenario-Based Application
Participants break into small groups to analyze real-world coaching scenarios.
Groups discuss strategies to strengthen impact using IMPACT.
Purpose: Deepens understanding, ensures application, and builds capacity to transfer learning to participants’ own contexts.

5 min | Share Out & Closing
Groups share key insights.
Facilitator highlights final takeaways and actionable next steps.
Purpose: Reinforces collective learning and ensures participants leave with strategies ready to implement.
