Intro (15 min) Insight into the Teen Mind
Who are the teens in our classroom?
Reviewing important facts about the brain and how teens learn
Emotions and learning warm up to demonstrate the how emotions play a role in learning
Stations (30 min)
Participants will participate in three different stations that allow participants to learn important strategies and engage with the materials and other participants. Station 1 will focus on creating a Z- chart based on brain based learning for teens. Station 2 will have participants engage in a TQE discussion to elevate classroom discussions. Station 3 will be focused on various ways to do stations through case studies, task cards, and mock or real clients.
Whole Group Share Out (15 min)
Participants will share out and share resources for learning.
Identify the key developmental, social, and emotional characteristics of adolescent learners and explain how these traits impact classroom engagement and motivation.
Implement a variety of practical, ready-to-use engagement strategies suitable for both hands-on and theoretical CTE learning environments.
Apply specific differentiation techniques to effectively support the diverse needs of all students, including those with 504 plans and IEPs.
Utilize concrete strategies to create a more dynamic, inclusive, and supportive classroom community where every student feels empowered to succeed.
Access a toolkit of resources that can be implemented immediately to foster a more positive and engaging learning experience.
