Session description

Students need digital citizenship skills to successfully navigate technology and digital learning environments, at school and home. Thoughtful collaboration between schools and families enhances skill-building and helps ensure safe, responsible technology use. Join this interactive session and learn how National PTA centers authentic family engagement pathways to support student success.

Outcomes

After this session, participants will be able to:

1. Understand and describe the importance of strong family-school partnerships in supporting student success.​

2. Analyze and reflect on parent mindsets around technology and identify opportunities to increase awareness and shared learning.​

3. Explore National PTA’s digital safety initiative that supports families with building critical knowledge and skills for online safety and well-being.​

4. Adopt strategies to effectively engage parents and families in dialogue around edtech, screentime, healthy media use and digital citizenship.
