Session description
As conversations turn toward restricting youth technology use, it's critical to have deeper and more thoughtful conversations about how and when tech is used in our classrooms and schools. This session tackles the real questions: When does technology enhance learning versus distract from it? How do we respond to legitimate concerns about screen time while still preparing students for a digital world? What are some common pitfalls from schools that exacerbate the techlash? Our panelists will discuss how to have meaningful conversations with parents who may be concerned about technology use, how to effectively explain how technology is being used to support learning, how to recognize meaningful technology use from digital distraction, and how to create the conditions for balanced technology use.
