Event Information
The session will begin with a ten-minute introduction and orientation that welcomes participants, outlines the session goals, and provides an overview of Canva Teacher Essentials and AI certifications. To connect with the audience, I will include a quick poll to gauge prior Canva experience and set expectations for what participants will accomplish by the end of the session.
The next twenty minutes will focus on Canva Teacher Essentials, including the Education Library, template customization, and methods for uploading and transforming existing teaching materials. Participants will follow along on their devices during a live demonstration and then engage in a brief think–pair–share discussion on how these tools could transform a current classroom activity.
The following thirty minutes will center on Canva AI tools, specifically Magic Write, Magic Design, and Magic Media. I will model classroom use cases and lead an interactive demonstration where participants generate real-time content such as lesson ideas, classroom visuals, or translations. Attendees will then apply one AI tool on their own devices to create or redesign a resource and share their results with a partner.
During the twenty-minute application and creation segment, participants will integrate both Canva Essentials and AI tools into a classroom-ready product. In small groups, they will design a short activity, poster, or resource. Their work will then be showcased in a gallery walk or digital share-out, allowing participants to see a range of applications and provide feedback.
The final ten minutes will be dedicated to certification steps and wrap-up. I will guide participants through how to complete the Canva Teacher Essentials and AI in the Classroom certifications. To conclude, participants will engage in a short reflection and Q&A, followed by an exit ticket where they commit to one way they plan to integrate Canva AI into their classroom practice within the next month.
This ninety-minute session will intersperse device-based creation every fifteen to twenty minutes, partner or peer sharing twice, a whole-group showcase once, and multiple opportunities for reflection and discussion, ensuring participants remain engaged while building practical skills.
After this session, participants will be able to navigate Canva’s Education Library, customize templates, and transform existing teaching materials into engaging digital resources. They will apply Canva AI tools such as Magic Write, Magic Design, and Magic Media to support student creativity and communication while completing certification steps that demonstrate proficiency in Canva Teacher Essentials and AI in the Classroom.
