Detailed Session Outline (60 Minutes)
Welcome & Framing (5 minutes)
We will open by introducing the Match Game format, the panel of edtech all-stars, and the ISTE Standards guiding the session. A brief audience poll will establish participant perspectives on AI in education and set the tone for an interactive, playful, and substantive experience.
Round One – Icebreaker Prompts (10 minutes)
Participants will be introduced to the game through lighthearted, school-themed prompts. Contestants from the audience attempt to match panelist responses, with humor creating a relaxed atmosphere. This round models how play can build community while preparing participants for deeper discussion.
Round Two – Edtech and AI Prompts (15 minutes)
Prompts will shift to AI integration and digital citizenship scenarios tied to ISTE Standards. Panelists provide varied answers, followed by quick takeaways connecting directly to Coaches 7c and Leaders 1d. Audience members vote on responses, engaging both with the content and the underlying issues of ethics, equity, and bias.
Round Three – Audience Participation Match (15 minutes)
The audience will generate responses to prompts through polling and live input. This round focuses on inclusivity, equity, and personalization, aligning with Educators 5a. Selected answers will be shared, sparking peer-to-peer interaction and reinforcing the value of multiple perspectives in shaping AI use in classrooms.
Lightning Round – Super Match (10 minutes)
Contestants attempt to match a single word or phrase with panelists, with the audience acting as a collective lifeline. This high-energy segment reinforces collaboration while highlighting the importance of critical and ethical thinking in digital spaces.
Wrap-Up and Takeaways (5 minutes)
We will close by synthesizing connections to the ISTE Standards: evaluating AI critically (7c), modeling safe and ethical use (1d), and designing learner-centered activities (5a). Attendees will leave with concrete strategies for aligning AI with standards and practical ideas they can bring directly into their schools and classrooms.
After this session, participants will leave with a clearer sense of how to connect AI tools to the ISTE Standards in meaningful ways. They will know how to check AI outputs and online content for accuracy, bias, and underlying assumptions, modeling strong digital citizenship for their students and colleagues. They will be able to design activities that use AI to personalize learning, honor student differences, and encourage independence. Participants will also feel confident in showing safe, ethical, and inclusive approaches to AI that support equity and student voice. Finally, they will be ready to spark playful, standards-aligned conversations about AI’s role in teaching and learning within their own schools and communities.
