Session description

Instructional leaders shape the systems that drive educator growth and student success. Participants will explore the “how” of turning the Profile of a Graduate into everyday practice, designing tools, routines, and supports that sustain whole-school alignment, and empower educators and students to reach their full potential.

Outline

1. Introduction & Framing (10 minutes)

Content: Overview of instructional leadership, the Profile of a Graduate, and the importance of aligning school systems to drive educator and student success.

Engagement: Participants respond to questions using interactive slides to share current practices and challenges.

Process: Real-time feedback collected to connect content to participant experiences.

2. Translating Vision into Daily Practice (15 minutes)

Content: Strategies for implementing the Profile of a Graduate in daily classroom and school-wide practice.

Engagement: Small-group discussion where participants share examples from their schools and identify implementation gaps.

Process: Peer-to-peer interaction, with groups reporting key takeaways to the larger session.

3. Designing Routines, Protocols, and Supports (15 minutes)

Content: Frameworks and tools for creating routines and protocols that sustain instructional leadership and whole-school coherence.

Engagement: Hands-on activity: participants design a routine or protocol tailored to their context.

Process: Facilitator circulates to provide feedback; participants share examples with peers for discussion.

4. Making Learning Visible with Digital Portfolios (10 minutes)

Content: Using digital portfolios to showcase student learning, growth, and readiness, including student-created videos.

Engagement: Paired discussion to brainstorm portfolio implementation in participants’ schools.

Process: Participants analyze examples and discuss strategies with partners.

5. Reflection & Application (10 minutes)

Content: Consolidation of session learning and identification of next steps for sustaining instructional leadership systems.

Engagement: Individual reflection where participants draft one actionable step; optional sharing via interactive slides.

Process: Facilitator prompts reflection and encourages peer sharing to reinforce learning.
