According to the CDC, after family connectedness, school connectedness is the second most important protective factor against youth emotional distress, disordered eating, suicidal ideation, and suicide attempts. Educators have the power to be the crucial bond between students and their school by harvesting and utilizing teachable moments as they occur.

Why ameliorating loneliness is the most important contribution an educator can make to a teen’s life
