Outline

Imagine: The Vision & The Why (10 Minutes)
Content:

Introduction: The "Imagine, Create, Inspire" philosophy.

The Power of Student Film: Why this initiative is essential for 21st-century skills (collaboration, critical thinking, digital literacy).

Triumphs and Challenges: A high-level overview of the host district's journey (e.g., first year vs. current scale).

Engagement/Process:

(2 Min) Quick Poll/Warm-up: What is your biggest fear about starting a film festival?" or "What is your current film initiative status (None, Small, District-wide)?"

(3 Min) Pair-Share: Attendees briefly discuss their poll answer with the person next to them, connecting the why of their interest to the session's theme.

Create: Practical Strategies & Action Planning
This is the core content focused on meeting the outcome of developing an action plan and outlining essential resources.

Phase 1: Launch & Logistics (10 Minutes)
Content: The four essential phases of launching a festival.

Resource Outline: Identifying and securing crucial resources (Budget breakdown, tech needs (submission platforms), personnel (committee roles).

Administrative Hacks: Streamlining rules, releases, and the film submission process (specific examples of successful guidelines).

Phase 2: Curriculum & Culture (15 Minutes)

Promotion & Buy-in: Tactics for securing student, teacher, and administration support.

Engagement/Process:

(5 Min) "Curriculum Catalyst" Brainstorm: Attendees work individually to jot down one specific project idea for their subject area that would result in a student film. They share this idea with the larger group (via shout-outs or posted sticky notes) to practice identifying strategies for integration.

Event Night & Follow-up (5 Minutes)
Content: A brief overview of managing the event itself and post-event analysis (metrics, feedback loops).

Engagement/Process: Quick Q&A focused on immediate concerns about the event itself.

Inspire: Next Steps & Q&A (15 Minutes)
Content:

Review of the key takeaways and a summary of the "Triumphs and Challenges" discussed.

A roadmap for continued growth and scaling the event.

Engagement/Process:

(5 Min) Develop Your Action Plan: Attendees individually complete the pre-printed, template handout: "My 3-Point Film Festival Action Plan." This directly fulfills the second outcome: to develop a practical action plan.

(10 Min) Open Q&A: A concluding time for questions, allowing for a deep dive into any lingering concerns. This final interaction ensures all participant needs are addressed.
