Session description
Before a student support decision is made, school leaders need a clear process that helps ensure the same essential questions are asked every time. In this Spark Talk, participants will explore DeanOS, an AI-supported decision tool designed to help deans and administrators make more consistent, equitable, and restorative decisions across a district. Built in Playlab, DeanOS uses a checklist-style decision pathway to guide leaders through observable behavior language, clarifying questions, policy considerations, equity checks, restorative options, MTSS-aligned supports, and considerations for students with IEPs and 504 plans before recommending next steps. Participants will see how DeanOS helps ensure important factors are considered and restorative practices are used more intentionally. The goal is not simply to assign consequences, but to keep students connected to school, repair harm, support accountability, and create a more reliable decision-making process. This project blends AI, school culture, restorative practices, legal awareness, and human judgment in action.
