Dr. Dr. Sherri Wilson
Director/Principal
Broward County Public Schools
Dr. Sherri N. Wilson is a transformational leader at the forefront of ethical artificial intelligence and digital innovation in K–12 education. As Director of Innovative Learning for Broward County Public Schools—the sixth largest and one of the most diverse school districts in the nation—she leads systemwide initiatives that align technology, policy, and pedagogy to prepare students for an AI-driven world. Her work is grounded in the belief that innovation must remain human-centered, enhancing teaching and learning rather than overshadowing it.
Having served as assistant principal, principal, and director, Dr. Wilson bridges instructional leadership with enterprise-level strategy. She successfully scaled over 20,000 Microsoft Copilot licenses across the K–12 ecosystem, providing Tier 1 AI access to all employees and a representative sample of students. She also led the execution of a $2 million MagicSchool AI contract, ensuring equitable access to high-quality AI tools for teachers districtwide.
In 2024, Dr. Wilson spearheaded the district’s Artificial Intelligence Task Force, establishing a governance framework addressing ethics, cybersecurity, procurement, professional learning, and policy alignment. She launched the districtwide AI Liaisons cohort in 2025, building site-based leadership capacity grounded in Technology, Innovation, Ethics, and Support (T.I.E.S.).
Through Regional Superintendent Professional Learning Sessions, Parent Universities, podcasts, and the Powerful Parent and Technology initiative, Dr. Wilson elevates educator and community voice in digital transformation. Her Teen T.I.E.S. and AI program engages students as active contributors, while the annual T.I.E.S. Expo convenes educators, students, and industry leaders including Microsoft, Khan Academy, MagicSchool, Adobe, Apple, and Promethean.
Through tools like Microsoft Reading Progress, Dr. Wilson has translated innovation into measurable outcomes—contributing to four of five schools previously slated for state takeover being removed from that list. She is not only preparing students to navigate the future; she is equipping them to lead it.
