Personalized Learning Plan: Kicking Personalized Learning into the Future with AI
I. The Mission A. Shifting teaching practices to tailor education to individual learning styles. Opening with a check-in that will be used to create an interactive.
B. Fostering student ownership using AI and interactive tools to level up the classroom.
II. Level 1: Flexible Strategies & Tools A. Providing multiple tools to support student choice and an integrated learning experience. B. Inventory Check: Using Canva to give students flexible options for media creation instead of traditional reports.
III. Level 2: Data-Driven & Targeted Instruction A. Making data-informed decisions to pull targeted, dynamic small groups. B. Inventory Check: Using ChatGPT or Gemini to code interactive SCORM packages that automatically track scores in your LMS.
IV. Level 3: Collaboration & Creative Thinking A. Empowering students to work collaboratively to generate novel ideas. B. Inventory Check: Using Google Workspace for real-time teamwork and NotebookLM for secure, source-grounded group research synthesis.
V. Level 4: Reflection & Goal Setting A. Building student ownership through ongoing goal tracking based on standards. B. Inventory Check: Creating personalized digital journals with Google Forms and Workspace to automate academic feedback loops.
VI. Bonus Level: The Coding Side Quest A. Automating workflows and building high-quality interactive personalized learning games using Canva, Google Sites, and ChatGPT/Gemini
. B. Quest Walkthrough: Accessing Google Apps Script (script.google.com) to write custom web apps
. C. Developer Mode: Step-by-step instructions on deploying code by replacing the ready-made code in Code.gs, creating an Index.html file, and creating an admin.html file
. Learn how to change configurations based on your audience and deploy the WebApp
. D. Boss Level Hazard Warnings: 1. Security: Audience matters; sharing code improperly can open your Gmail to hackers, so always sanitize your code using add-ins
. 2. Speed: Larger files and data sets will slow down your Google Apps Script
. 3. Limits: Automated emails are capped at 1,500 per day for Enterprise Google users and 100 per day for personal accounts.
VII. Let's Build Something Together! The audience will review real-world examples and create their own work based on the check-in question.
VIII. (Presenters) A. Adam West (WESTA@PCSSTN.COM)
