Session description

Empower school leaders and teachers to move beyond allyship and build daily practices that affirm and protect LGBTQIA2S+ students. Attendees will examine their school climate, disrupt harmful narratives, and co-create a plan for belonging and joy rooted in identity, safety, and culturally responsive practice.

Outline

Session Outline:

0–10 minutes: Welcome, grounding activity, community agreements.

10–25 minutes: Identity-mapping and digital Padlet reflection.

25–45 minutes: Case studies from urban, suburban, and rural schools using a digital gallery walk format.

45–60 minutes: Brave Planning Protocol with collaborative group design using Jamboard or Miro.

60–75 minutes: Tech spotlight: exploring ed tech tools and AI applications (e.g., bias audits, inclusive curriculum design tools using an AI agent or gpt).

75–90 minutes: Share-out, Q&A, and commitment circles using a digital pledge board.

Engagement Strategies:
Participants will engage through peer feedback, collaborative ed tech design tools, identity-based reflection, and real-world case study analysis. Digital polling, collaborative whiteboards, and reflection apps will be used throughout.
