George Patterson is the Senior Executive Director of Community Schools for New York City Public Schools, overseeing 419 schools and leading initiatives that integrate academic, social-emotional, and community supports to advance student success and family well-being. He also oversees the city’s My Brother’s Keeper and My Sister’s Keeper initiatives, expanding mentorship and leadership opportunities for young people of color. A founding member of Black Edfluencers United, he authored the white paper that led to NYC’s $27 million Black Studies investment. Previously, he served 16 years as a principal, turning around underperforming schools and earning city and state recognition.
