Kate Bain is currently the Global Program Officer (GPO) for the Virtual English Language Educator Program at the U.S. Department of State’s Office of English Language Programs (OELP), in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. During her eight years in OELP, she’s also served as the GPO for the Online Professional English Network (OPEN) Program and has worked on webinars and social media for global audiences. She was an English Language Fellow in Barranquilla, Colombia from 2012-14, and began her career as a K-12 teacher and teacher mentor for multilingual learners in Baltimore City Public Schools.
