Research on family engagement – data from 10+ years of studies on school improvement from the Consortium for Chicago School Research, 2022 survey data from a study on parents’ experiences engaging with school by National PTA and Edge Research, and more will provide additional context on maximizing the impact of federal funding for equitable family engagement.
Federal standards for education programs - all evidence-based family engagement programs discussed in this session adhere to section 8101(21)(A) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), which describes four categories/levels of effectiveness based on the evidence, quality, and size of studies for a program.
Evaluation data on evidence-based family engagement programs – participants will learn about a new tool, created in partnership with Johns Hopkins University’s EvidenceforESSA.org, to search for and vet family engagement programs that meet Tier 3/promising or better levels of evidence. Sample outcomes and programs will be shared in this session. The tool can be found at FamilyEngagementSolutions.org
