Session description

It's no secret that teacher retention is a big problem. However, the old ways of keeping teachers are no longer working. Here, we will illuminate hidden retention opportunities and begin to create an actionable plan to keep retention rates high while maintaining the integrity of your school's professional environment.

Outline

Regarding retention,
-What do you want?
-Why do you think you don't have it?
-What is it costing you?

This will lead into the discussion about why this topic is essential to cover and how we are going to look at new ways of solving this problem (since the old ways aren't working)

The focus of the next part of the session is about the role of the leadership team in the context of teacher retention. While we all want to make grand changes, change has to happen on the individual level first, which requires incredible self-awareness, and self-regulation (especially when things get difficult).

We'll explore 5 steps that will lead to greater retention:
-Regulate to resonate
-Be amazing at what you do
-Excellence through shared vision
-Increase emotional intelligence
-Drop your ego

As a leader, YOU are the head domino that sets the tone for the rest of the school. We will close out with how to integrate new practices to create sustainable change and time for more questions and answers.
