Event Information
This session will expand on the ten strategies for effective instructional leadership, including:
-Being curious
-Being visible
-Being vulnerable
-Being willing to share
-Being relational
-Being strategic with delegation
-Being intentional
-Being focused on learning... not teaching
-Being committed to removing barriers
-Being about the culture
Each strategy will be covered in about 5 minutes and there will be time for participants to turn and talk about applications and implementations for each strategy in their school.
The "effective schools" research led by Larry Lezotte and Ron Edmonds established the importance of principals being the instructional leader of their building.
Additionally, the "Balanced Leadership Framework" by McREL International identified behaviors of principals that significantly impact student achievement. Several of these behaviors are included in the session.
