Session description

This workshop will introduce technology teachers to a range of online apps and resources for enhancing instruction and student engagement. Attendees will learn to integrate interactive tools, manage digital classrooms, and streamline their workflow. Practical demonstrations and strategies for selecting and using these tools effectively will be provided.

Outline

1. Introduction and Session Overview (10 minutes)

Content: Brief introduction to session objectives, ISTE and Transformative Learning Principles, and an overview of the apps and resources to be covered.

1.Engagement: poll or discussion about participants' current digital tools and challenges.

2. Exploring Key Online Apps and Resources (20 minutes)
Content: Showcase a selection of online apps categorized by use

Engagement: Live demonstration of each tool, showing real-life examples.

Process: Participants interact with tools in real-time via their devices. They will be prompted to experiment with setting up an activity or project using the tools.

3. Hands-On Activity: Creating Interactive Lessons (25 minutes)
Content: Guide participants through creating interactive lessons with one of the apps. They will design a lesson tailored to their classroom needs.
Engagement: Hands-on session where participants build lessons, followed by a peer-review segment.

4. Personalizing Learning with Technology (15 minutes)
Content: Explore strategies for using digital tools to personalize learning, meet diverse student needs, and create individualized learning pathways.
Engagement: Group activity where participants brainstorm personalization strategies based on case studies.
Process: Small group discussions on implementing personalization, with each group presenting their approach to the larger group.
5. Overcoming Challenges and Practical Tips (10 minutes)
Content: potential challenges

Engagement: Open Q&A where participants share their concerns and experiences, followed by tips from the presenter.
Process: Facilitated group discussion where participants ask questions and offer solutions.

6. Wrap-Up and Takeaways (10 minutes) outline actionable steps participants can take after the workshop.
Engagement: Each participant shares one key takeaway or action plan for using the tools in their classroom.
Process: Group reflection and final discussions to consolidate learning and ensure actionable takeaways.
Total Session Time: 90 minutes
