Session description

What needs to be improved at your school? Whether you are looking to make drastic changes or smaller tweaks, I will share stories from my school's journey from a failing school to what The Boston Globe recently called "The best kept secret in Providence." Start now, and make an impact!

Outline

One hour presentation-
Content and engagement: I will use storytelling to connect with audience members, and share real anecdotes, lessons learned, what NOT to do, and what works
Time: Each topic (I listed several here; will narrow down to 5 or 6) will take about 5-7 minutes
Process: Peer-to Peer interaction will be encouraged as we stop/jot down what each audience member's own hopes for their school are, how it relates to our conversation and stories shared

My new book, Turning it Around (co-authored with Todd Whitaker) is the main outline and inspiration for this session.
It details the journey of my principalship and the major turnaround efforts we took to go from a failing school to a school that The Boston Globe calls "The Best Kept Secret in Providence."
