Session description

Learn how virtual English language teaching professionals have utilized innovative tech tools to transform online English language classrooms. Interactive platforms, low-bandwidth mobile apps, and creative online activities can boost engagement, contextualize lessons, and foster meaningful exchange. Learn ways to create dynamic, effective, and accessible language learning environments.

Outline

This poster presentation will involve experts in using innovative tech tools for global projects through the U.S. Department of State Virtual English Language Educator Program.

The poster display will showcase virtual learning projects led by Virtual Educators and hosted by institutions around the world. The tech tools demonstrated will showcase creative ways to foster community in an online classroom and to help participants with their learning goals, as well as to foster cross-cultural understanding and friendship between participants.

Content: One poster showcasing three projects in various parts of the globe.

Engagement: English language teacher educators (U.S. Department of State Virtual English Language Educators) will engage with audience participants to share the structure and audience of their projects and the tools and strategies they used and shared with participants across the globe.

Process: Storytelling with poster visual followed by opportunities for follow-up questions and discussions with poster session attendees.
