Session description

Unlock your staff’s potential by empowering teachers to support, learn from, and elevate one another through peer-coaching! This session dives into peer-coaching benefits and provides the knowledge and tools to create peer-coaching programs that enhance instructional practices, build teacher capacity, and foster collaborative cultures and continuous improvement.

Outline

-Discussion board (Pear Deck, Padlet, or other similar tool) of participants’ current successes and pain points / struggles as it relates to offering coaching opportunities for teachers (as people wait for session start time and 1st 3 minutes of session)
-Introduction of presenters to ground the session in our relevant experience in this topic (2 minutes)
-Verbal group discussion of participants’ goals for the session and key points from discussion board (5 minutes)
-Presentation of the structure of the peer-coaching program we have developed at our school and the process by which this program was built and how it is refined yearly (including samples and templates). Opportunities for participants to individually reflect on ideas presented and ask questions to the whole group will be available throughout the presentation (35 minutes)
-Participants will engage in a small group or partner reflection of the ideas presented and how ideas may be applied to their schools/districts (10 minutes)
-Whole group discussion of participants’ reflection of key takeaways from the session (5 minutes)
