Dr. Ashley Ellis is the Chief Academic Officer for Loudoun County Public Schools. She began her career as a high school English teacher in Yorktown, Virginia, and has served in Loudoun since 2015 in roles including Director of Instructional Programs, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, and Deputy Superintendent. Prior to joining Loudoun, she was a Coordinator of Professional Learning and a Systemic Partnership Coach for the Buck Institute for Education, supporting district and school leaders nationwide in implementing project-based learning. Dr. Ellis is passionate about curriculum, professional learning, and strategic planning. She holds degrees from the College of William & Mary (B.A., Ed.D.) and Virginia Tech (M.Ed.). She also serves on advisory boards for the Northern Virginia Science Center and Northern Virginia Community College. In 2024, she received the VASCD Leadership Award for her contributions to education.
