Event Information
Introductions - Speakers will share their backgrounds and invite attendees to meet others in the room.
Part One - Level-setting: Attendees will participate in a live polling to determine their experience with, interest in, and goals for using the framework for teaching excellence.
Part Two - The group will view a short video clip of classroom instruction, paying attention to specific elements of the framework.
Part Three - In small groups, participants will explore and discuss how they lead an inquiry-based feedback session with the teacher featured in the video. This segment of the workshop will be accompanied by a guide and prompts to ensure deep engagement and progress towards the learning objectives of the session.
[Parts two and three will be repeated with unique video clips that present varied opportunities for practicing feedback.]
Part Four - As a whole group, attendees will debrief from the small group work and map out strategies for their particular teaching-learning contexts.
Close - Attendees will receive a toolkit for using the framework to drive inquiry-based feedback sessions.
This session is based on the Danielson Framework for Teaching, one of the most widely recognized definitions of instructional excellence in the world.
