Oral communication is the largest part of a school leader's day. Even so, very little attention has been given to the need to develop better communication skills and the costs of failing to do so. Before You Say a Word: A School Leader's Guide to Clear and Compelling Communication (ASCD, 2024) addresses the issue. Principal Leadership, the magazine of the NASSP, notes the problem in the October 2024 issue: https://www.nassp.org/publication/principal-leadership/.
