Session description

GenerationAI is a groundbreaking educational movement led by ISTE+ASCD, in collaboration with key partners, that empowers K-12 educators with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to safely and responsibly capture the power of artificial intelligence in the classroom. This session spotlights coalition partners working with underrepresented communities to transform education through AI integration. Learn from their firsthand experiences with implementing AI tools, overcoming challenges, and developing innovative projects that ensure equitable access to AI-enhanced learning. Join us to explore practical strategies for responsible AI adoption in diverse educational settings.

Outline

Content and Engagement: We will have each coalition partner share information about the work they have been doing with GenerationAI. Indigitize has been engaging with communities of practice to determine best practices for implementing AI with indigenous students. Latinos for Education has been conducting a leadership series related to AI in partnership with the Center for Black Educator Development, and Playlab has been hosting Professional Learning Communities where educators can learn how to create AI-powered apps to support the work they are doing in their schools, classrooms, and district. Each partner will have approximately 10 minutes to talk about their work. The second half of the session will be open for audience questions to the panelists.
